The culmination of the Worms was complete when the krewe from Atlanta arrived at the NOOMOON stronghold in New Orleans. After destroying one van and renting a fresh one, they rolled into the Big Easy at 3:00am Saturday March 4th. Ember & Stew from Oakland, California and Jason & April from Detroit arrived earlier that day to join Loid & Michelle. The stage was set for OPERATION:Bring the Worms to the People.

SATURDAY March 4

The NOOMOON headquarters is situated near the first turn of the Endymion Parade Route. Tens of thousands of people from all over the world campout to reserve their space on this route. As the neighborhood filled with people, partying and preparing for one of the most anticipated parades of the Mardi Gras Carnival, the WORMS UNION warmed up the crowd with an improv percussion jam on the front porch of the NOOMOON House. As the start of Endymion drew near the Worms prepared to Roll.

With the floats rolling in the distance the WORMS UNION launched their exotic marching parade experience. Playing a hand-made ashiko crafted by Manoli, LOID led the krewe parading single file through the crowded streets of Endymion. The Worms marched up Carrolton Ave with a thunderous beat of drums emanating from the palms of LOID, Manoli, Sean, Jason, and Greg. Sullivan Stew enchanted the masses with melodic acoustic guitar in perfect tune with the thunder. Michelle. Ember, Tonya, and April enhanced the scene with performance dance and harmonizing vocal streams. All topped off with a spoonful of Dr Pete. The Worms stalled the parade on various side streets for intimate interaction with the people, pausing briefly for a breather and to catch beads thrown by the Grand Marshall of Endymion - Britney Spears. Once the Worms reached Canal St they turned back to give the people one more blast of Worm Juice. After a small leg of Orleans Ave the Worms turned back towards home to rest.

Back at NOOMOON HQ later that night The WORMS UNION performed a private intimate spiritual journey through the senses of musical harmony. All Worms were in perfect tune with the cosmic spiral of musical bliss. As Manoli slipped into a trance he led the rhythm laced journey into a tribal soul dance of Gods and Goddesses. All in tune with each others spirits the Worms exchanged beats, thoughts, movements, theories, bodies, souls, harmonies and Dreams.

SUNDAY March 5

The Worms Union set up in Jackson Square at the corner of St. Ann and Chartres for the After Dinner Mint Show. After a lengthy jam with the people of New Orleans the Worms Paraded up the road to Bourbon St. There they performed cajun style for the masses of Mardi Gras revelers. The Worms took a break to catch a show by the Crash Worship Extra Action Marching Band at the Howlin Wolf. Soaked in whine, flower, rice, ketchup, and mustard the Worms returned to the NOOMOON Base exhausted, but not dead. A small detachment of Worms returned to the French Quarter for more. LOID, Manoli, Sean, Tonya, and Greg paraded up and down Bourbon St. from 4:00 - 5:30am. They were joined by dozens of dancers, rappers, freaks, musicians, and Drunks. The Worms followers started banging bottles and slapping boxes in rhythm with the Worms. When the Worms had enough they tried to dash down a side street but the crowd followed and begged for more. Giving in and giving back to the people, the Worms Union Paraded one last stretch down Bourbon. A crowd followed almost to the end of the Quarter. The Worms dispensed a stack of stickers and disappeared into the Morning.

MONDAY MARCH 6 LUNDI GRAS

The New Orleans Police were't feeling very wormy Monday Night. They silenced the Worms Union on three occasions through out the French Quarter, complaining that the music was too loud. They suggested to perform in the amphitheater in Jackson Square. There the Worms Union had a great 20 minute jam until the Police and a hundred christians with a permit swept the worms out of the area.

Midnight grew near and it was time to join the annual tribal freak-fest outside of Cafe Brazil on Frenchmen St. Each year hundreds of freaks, musicians, artists, performers, weirdos, and worms join to make music and dance in the streets. As the Worms Union arrived the air was quiet. An organizer was running around keeping people out of the street so cars could pass, trying to hold off the explosion as long as possible. As midnight struck the Worms Union led the mass into a tribal drum thunder boom. The hoards of people converged into the streets and bounced in rhythm to the sound emanating from dozens of percussionists. Traffic was halted in its tracks. The police showed up and tried to get through. Accepting defeat the police retreated and re-routed traffic around the acoustic orgy. With a signal to the crowd a parade leader headed out to bring this monster to the public. The procession marched through the french Quarter up Royal St. Down Pirates Alley and back up Decatur St. to the Starting Point. The music didn't stop there. It carried on for hours. When the brass band who was playing at Cafe Brazil couldn't compete with the thunderous drumming outside, they joined them. Spilling out into the streets the full Brass Band jammed with the tribe. Not long after the Crash Worship Extra Action Marching Band joined the scene. Aside from the fire department putting out some small fires the jam went uninterrupted by the local authorities.
